Passenger train rams into goods train

Mysore to Darbhanga Bhagmati Express on Friday collided with a stationary goods train near Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu.

Collision happened at 75 km/hr

The train was reportedly travelling at around 75 km/hr before it switched lines that may have resulted in the crash.

Few coaches caught fire​

Several coaches of the express train were derailed after the collision, and a fire broke out in two coaches.

Trains movement affected​

Both UP and DOWN train movements have been affected following the collision. Emergency teams from Chennai, including senior railway officials, have rushed to the scene. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Rescue operation underway

Rescue operations are underway, with fire and emergency services working to control the situation. No casualties have been reported so far.
