NEW DELHI: Chandrayaan-3 scripts new chapter in India's space odyssey, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said after the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) launched its third lunar mission.

"Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India's space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists' relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!," PM Modi said on Twitter.

The Prime Minister is in France on a two-day visit. He is visiting France at the official invitation of president Emmanuel Macron.

Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission and the country’s second attempt at soft-landing on Moon, is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2, which failed to soft-land in September 2019.
