At the banquet dinner during the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was congratulated by several world leaders including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the success of Chandrayaan-3.

Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi while referring to the Chandrayaan-3 mission, said the enthusiasm of our diaspora in South Africa for India's achievements in the space sector is truly gladdening.

American politicians, newspapers and space research institutions hailed India Wednesday on the successful moon landing of Chandrayaan-3 as the country entered the elite club of three other nations -- United States, Russia and China -- that have a rover on the lunar surface.In the process, India became the first country among the elite group to have its rover on the moon's south pole region, which the Indian Space Research Organisation believes could have traces of water.

The Indian diaspora in Greece’s Athens has expressed joy on Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on the southern polar region of the Moon.

Members of the diaspora also expressed happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Greece on Friday.

A person Manoj Kumar Chouhan said: “We are happy. Earlier it was said 'Chanda mama dur ke lekin ab Chanda mama ghar ke ho gaye hai'...PM Modi is coming here also, and we are excited about it...”.

Another person Manisha Chaudhary got emotional while talking about Chandrayaan-3.

ssociate Project Director of the Chandrayaan-3 mission Kalpana on Wednesday said that it was a memorable moment for her and for the whole team after the Vikram lander carrying the Pragyaan rover in its belly touched down on the lunar surface.

"It is the most memorable moment for me and my team. This is what we have strived for the past so many years. We achieved our target," said Kalpana,

The Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3 landed successfully after a 40-day journey starting from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed gratitude to world leaders for their wishes on Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on Moon.The prime minister in reply to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s wishes said the milestone is not just India's pride but a beacon of human endeavor and perseverance.

Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal congratulated the ISRO scientists on the success of Chandrayaan-3 and said that it is not a historic moment not just for India, ISRO but for every citizen of the country.

"By aiming for the moon, India has not only reached it, but also set our sights on the limitless possibilities that lie ahead (and) as the saying goes, 'To infinity and beyond'," India's Permanent Representative Ruchira Kamboj has said.

While the successful landing of the Chandrayan-3 on the moon "symbolises the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians," she added on Wednesday that "it's a historic moment for humanity as we venture into uncharted territory near the moon's South Pole".

"What really stands out is that India is the first country to land on the South Pole of the moon, where many others have not succeeded so far," she said.

"It’s an incredible feat for all the scientists and engineers involved. We are proud to partner with you on this mission and space exploration more broadly," she tweets

The Indian High Commission in London on Wednesday celebrated the successful landing of ISRO's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon.People at the High Commission raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram'.Chandryaan-3 on Wednesday successfully performed a soft landing on the Moon.ISRO tweeted: "Chandrayaan-3 Mission: 'India, I reached my destination and you too!' Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon! Congratulations, India!"

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa Wednesday lauded India for the successful moon landing of Chandrayaan-3, saying it is something to rejoice about for all BRICS partners.

The Chandrayaan mission remained the focal point of Ramaphosa's welcoming remarks as he hosted a cultural performance and state banquet in Midrand on Wednesday evening BRICS nation leaders.

Also present at the occasion were a host of other leaders from across Africa and Global South who have been invited to participate in the all-day BRICS-Africa Outreach and BRICS Plus Dialogue on Thursday.

India's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) Ruchira Kamboj has said Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing on the Moon is a historic moment for humanity as “we venture into uncharted territory near the moon's South Pole”.“India's Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully landed its Vikram lander module near the South Pole of the Moon. And what is significant about this is that India has reached the South Pole of the Moon which no country in the world could reach to date with the dedication and talent of its scientists,” the permanent representative to the UN said during a press briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.She said the Chandrayaan-3 mission “not only marks India's presence on the moon but also symbolizes the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians. Beyond that, it's a historic moment for humanity as we venture into uncharted territory near the moon's South Pole.”

After the success of Chandrayaan-3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday dialled Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman S Somanath from South Africa's Johannesburg to congratulate him and said he would soon visit them in Bengaluru to greet the entire team in person.

"Somnath Ji, your name is Somnath, which is associated with the moon, and therefore your family members will also be very happy today. Many many congratulations to you and your entire team from my side," PM Modi said in the telephone conversation.

In a moment brimming with national pride, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his admiration, lauding Chandrayaan, ISRO, and the entire scientific community for their pivotal roles in accomplishing this feat, following the triumphant landing of ISRO's third lunar endeavor, Chandrayaan-3.

“This is definitely a proud moment for the country, proud of Chandrayaan, ISRO and whole scientists, this achievement happened because of them...", Sinha said on the successful landing of ISRO's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar congratulated the ISRO scientists on the success of Chandrayaan-3 and said that it was a moment of great pride and joy for the entire country.

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar said, "Arey Waah, Maza aa gya! Look, the Moon has come closer to us. It's a moment of joy as Tiranga gets hoisted on the Moon. After landing on the Moon successfully Chandrayaan-3 is reflecting India's presence on the Lunar surface. On this great occasion, I express gratitude towards ISRO and its scientists as we have got this achievement owing to their skills, courage and brilliance."

CM Manohar Lal Khattar said that this success was a giant leap for the entire humanity.

Scientists and officials clapped, cheered and hugged each other as the spacecraft landed and people across India broke out in celebration, setting off firecrackers and dancing in the streets. Nearly 7 million watched the YouTube live stream.

Professor Anu Ojha OBE, Championing Space Director at the UK Space Agency, said, "Congratulations to India on this amazing feat of engineering and perseverance. The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 in the southern polar region of the moon is further evidence that we are living in a new space age, with space agencies and companies across the world setting their sights on the Moon and beyond."
