CAA ‘divisive: 9 Magsaysay award winners

NEW DELHI: Nine Indian

Ramon Magsaysay award

recipients issued a statement on Friday saying the Citizenship Amendment Act singles out Muslims, is “clearly divisive” and, therefore “unacceptable”.

, Rajendra Singh, P. Sainath, Shantha Sinha, TM Krishna, Deep Joshi and Sandeep Pandey.

The statement says, “We, the Indian recipients of the Magsaysay Award, would like to express our deep sense of concern and anguish at the passing into Law, of the CAA.”
