Brown sugar worth 1 crore found in J-K bus

JAMMU: Police has recovered one kilogram of brown sugar from a bus near Batote on Jammu and Kashmir highway and arrested one person in this connection, police sources said.
During the routine checking at Batote yesterday a police party recovered the contraband worth Rs one crore in international market from a bag in possession of one Mohammad Shafi of Gandoh area of Doda district, the sources said adding that the bus was on way from Jammu to Srinagar.
Police took Shafi into custody and registered a case against him under the relevant provisions of law.
Later during questioning, the accused revealed the whereabouts of his accomplice at Jammu. A police team has been rushed to nab his accomplice, the sources added.
