ARARIA (BIHAR): In a shocking incident, a five-year-old boy was bobbitised when his stepmother rebuffed the sexual overtures of a man in a Bihar village, police said on Monday.
Pravin Singh (22), son of an influential landlord, took a fancy to Renu Devi, the second wife of one Jageshwar Mahto, and on June 25 tried to take advantage of her after barging into her house, they said.

Mahto and his first wife Manju Devi were not present in the house then in Mathura village of Araria district.
When Renu Devi resisted him, Singh, in a fit of rage, bobbitised Manju Devi's child, the police said.
Suspecting Renu Devi for the plight of her son, Manju Devi filed a complaint against her with Narpatganj police station the same day.
Renu Devi was arrested and sent to jail in Araria. The victim was treated at Narpathgunj Primary Health Centre, police said.
However, the complainant soon realised that Renu Devi was innocent and that Pravin Singh was responsible for the incident.
Manju Devi wanted to withdraw the case against Renu Devi, but the local police did not take any action against Singh due to his clout.

While Renu Devi continued to be in jail, waiting for justice, Mahto, Manju Devi and the boy arrived in the state capital last week to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the "Janata Ke Durbar Me Mukhya Mantri" programme.
Sources in the CM's office said on Monday that the family tried to meet Kumar in the state assembly on Friday but was denied entry.
The family has approached the local BJP MLA, Janardhan Yadav, for fixing an appointment with the Chief Minister.
