Union home minister Amit Shah began his three-day visit to poll-bound Bihar on Thursday, with plans to address a public rally in Saran district and an intellectuals’ meet in Patna on Friday, according to BJP leaders.
Party sources said Shah held a late-night meeting with senior BJP leaders in Patna to review the party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
“The home minister will address a public meeting in Saran during the day in favour of NDA nominees in Amnaur and Taraiya assembly seats. Later in the day, he will also address a gathering of intellectuals at Gyan Bhawan in Patna,” said a BJP leader who did not wish to be named.
During his Bihar tour, Shah will also take part in organisational discussions and hold meetings with leaders of NDA alliance partners to strengthen coordination ahead of the polls.
State BJP president Dilip Jaiswal welcomed Shah at the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Thursday evening.
Shah is also expected to participate in processions accompanying some NDA candidates filing their nomination papers.
“Over the course of the next four days, filing of nomination papers will be completed for all the 243 seats in the state assembly. Instructions will be issued by the home minister to all party leaders to ensure better coordination among NDA partners during the upcoming elections,” another BJP leader said.

Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) National President and former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha on Thursday said that his party has not been sidelined and it will contest six seats in the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections 2025.

According to the announcement being made by the X handle of the party's Bihar unit, its state president Rajesh Ram is contesting from the Kutumba assembly constituency.
The party started announcing the names of candidates on X without releasing an official list of nominees. Along with the announcements, it posted photos of nominees being handed over party nomination certificates.
The Congress leadership is in talks with its alliance partners, including the RJD, but the seat-sharing arrangement has neither been finalised nor announced.

The BJP on Wednesday evening released its third list of 18 candidates for Bihar polls, fielding Bina Devi from Kochadhaman seat and Sangeeta Kumari from Mohania, which is reserved for the Scheduled Castes.
According to the list, Sanjay Pandey will contest from Narkatiaganj seat, Satish Kumar Yadav from Raghopur, and Bharat Bind from Bhabua.

Bihar is gearing up for its 243-seat Assembly elections, with polling scheduled on November 6 and 11 and results on November 14. The state’s political landscape is set for a high-stakes contest between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition-led INDIA bloc.
The NDA, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United) (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), recently announced its seat-sharing arrangement. BJP and JDU will contest 101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) 29, HAM 6, and RLM 6. Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde highlighted the unity and consensus within the alliance, emphasising its readiness to form the government again.
The INDIA bloc, led by Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD along with the Congress, CPI (ML), CPI, CPM, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), is finalising its seat-sharing formula. Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and party leaders have stressed ongoing talks to ensure fairness within the alliance. Congress leader Manoj Kumar indicated the seat-sharing announcement could come soon, citing full faith in leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav.

The NDA, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janata Dal (United) (JDU), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), recently announced its seat-sharing arrangement. BJP and JDU will contest 101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) 29, HAM 6, and RLM 6. Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde highlighted the unity and consensus within the alliance, emphasising its readiness to form the government again.
The INDIA bloc, led by Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD along with the Congress, CPI (ML), CPI, CPM, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), is finalising its seat-sharing formula. Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and party leaders have stressed ongoing talks to ensure fairness within the alliance. Congress leader Manoj Kumar indicated the seat-sharing announcement could come soon, citing full faith in leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav.
