The ambitious Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress, led by party leader Rahul Gandhi, completed 100 days on Friday. The yatra, launched on September 7 at Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, was launched to highlight three challenges being faced by India. However, the yatra is not about five issues.

While addressing the media during Bharat Jodo Yatra at Lalsot in Dausa on Thursday, Ramesh said that on the occasion of completion of 100 days of Bharat Jodo Yatra, a cultural programme will be organised at Jaipur's Albert Hall Museum on Friday.

Ramesh said, "I wish that the name of Albert Hall Museum should be changed, because Albert was the husband of Queen Victoria and today in 2022, it is not right to have the name Albert. He said that I also talked to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in this regard and asked him to change the name, I understand that it will be renamed soon."

Besides Sukhu, Agnihotri and the HPCC chief, some other newly elected Himachal MLAs, including Pratibha Singh's son Vikramaditya Singh and AICC in-charge of the hill state Rajeev Shukla, joined the yatra after the tea break during the morning session.

The yatra will enter Delhi on December 24, and after a break of about eight days, move on to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and finally, Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajasthan is the only Congress-ruled state where the yatra will cover around 500 km over 17 days before entering Haryana on December 21. People in large numbers were seen joining the march holding banners and party flags.

So far, the Bharat Jodo Yatra has covered parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, and is now in Rajasthan. It will end in Kashmir next year.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, the party's mass contact campaign, resumed from Rajasthan's Dausa on Friday.

The foot march, which began from Kanyakumari on September 7, marked its 100 days on Friday, during the 12th day of its Rajasthan leg. Waynad MP Rahul Gandhi along with party leaders and workers resumed the padayatra from Meena High Court, Dausa, around 6am and is scheduled to take a break at Giriraj Dharan temple at around 11am.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra's biggest achievement is that it highlighted issues relevant to the people, senior Congress leader K C Venugopal said on Friday as the Rahul Gandhi-led foot march completed 100 days on the road.

Gandhi, Venugopal, former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and other senior leaders of the party began the morning leg of the yatra from the Meena High Court. "Bharat Jodo Yatra's biggest achievement is that issues of the common people of the country have been highlighted through it," Venugopal told PTI while walking in the yatra. "The BJP's attempt of demolishing his (Gandhi's) image has also been destroyed by us," he added.

It has seen participation from a cross-section of society, including film and TV celebrities such as Pooja Bhatt, Riya Sen, Sushant Singh, Swara Bhasker, Rashami Desai, Akanksha Puri and Amol Palekar.

Besides participation from tinsel town celebrities, writers, military veterans, including former Navy chief admiral L Ramdas, Opposition leaders such as Shiv Sena's Aaditya Thackeray and the NCP's Supriya Sule, and former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, have also joined the march at various points.

HP CM Sukhu reaches Jaipur to join Bharat Jodo Yatra

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri arrived here from Delhi on Thursday night to join the Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra. The two were accompanied by Congress Himachal Pradesh in-charge Rajeev Shukla. Sukhu and the others were received at the airport by state Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) Minister Mahesh Joshi, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, MLAs Rafiq Khan and Amin Kagzi and other party leaders and workers.
