Baba Siddique shot dead

Baba Siddique, a leader from Ajit Pawar's faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and former Maharashtra minister, was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries on Saturday night.


Siddique, a former three-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), was attacked on Saturday night while leaving his office in Bandra West, Mumbai. The incident occurred around 9.15 pm when three men fired shots at him. Siddique was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by 9.30 pm with no detectable pulse or blood pressure and two gunshot wounds in his chest. Despite medical efforts, the 66-year-old leader from the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was declared dead at 11.27 pm.

Baba Siddique's body shifted from Lilavati Hospital to Cooper Hospital

Mumbai Police relocated the body of NCP leader Baba Siddique on Sunday morning. The transfer was made from Lilavati Hospital to Cooper Hospital, which is around 8 kilometers away. Officials stated that doctors at Cooper Hospital would carry out a post-mortem examination.

Six bullets fired at Siddique, three of which hit him

On Sunday, the Mumbai Crime Branch provided updates on the fatal shooting of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Officials confirmed that six bullets were fired at Siddique, three of which hit him. Hospital reports detail that Siddique was struck twice in the chest. He was promptly taken to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital for emergency care.

A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility on Sunday for the killing of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The individual alleged the attack was conducted due to Siddique's close relationship with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.


Mumbai Police, currently investigating the shooting, confirmed they are aware of the social media post about the incident. However, they stated, "its authenticity is yet to be verified."

Baba Siddique was rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Saturday night after sustaining two gunshot wounds to his chest. According to doctors at the hospital, Siddique was admitted around 9:30 pm. Despite extensive efforts to resuscitate him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
