A Bihar court on Wednesday issued arrest warrant against Union MoS for Home and Cong spokesman Shakeel Ahmed for violating model code of conduct.

DARBHANGA: A local court here on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Union Minister of State for Home and Congress' national spokesman Shakeel Ahmed, besides a few officials, in a case of violation of model code of conduct.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate V K Srivastava accepted the prayer of police and ordered issue of arrest warrant against Ahmed.

Srivstava also ordered issue of arrest warrants against suspended Sub-Divisional Officer (Darbhanga) Rameshwar Bhagat, Keoti Block Development Officer Ravindra Bhagat and Executive Engineer Satyanarain Pandit.
The Election Commission had on March 16 ordered shifting of the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Darbhanga district and suspended the Sub-Divisional Officer of the district for their alleged involvement in violation of the model code of conduct by Ahmed.
Ahmed was alleged to have held a political meeting at Koeti High School on March 13 without seeking permission of the local administration, thus violating the model code of conduct.
The SDO was suspended since he had allowed the meeting to be held without having secured EC's permission.
The DM and SP too were allegedly found complicit, sources said.
