Army jawan guns down senior officers in Jammu

JAMMU: An Army jawan shot dead two ofhis senior officers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), following averbal duel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway near Batote, official sources saidhere on Wednesday.According to sources, sepoy Pradeep Rao had averbal altercation on some trivial issue with his colleagues -- Subedar G HHaldar and sepoy D S Rao -- late on Tuesday night at Batote army camp on thehighway, 120 kms from here, in Doda district.Following the incident,Rao shot at his colleagues from his service weapon killing both of them, theysaid, adding the accused was later overpowered and arrested.A casehas been registered against him, they said.An investigation into thecircumstances that led to the incident is on, they added.
