President Trump spoke during a Cabinet meeting about the tragic death of U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, who was killed as a result of a recent shooting in Washington, D.C. The President shared his conversation with Spc. Beckstrom's family, describing the immense grief and her incredible character: "The rest of their lives are going to be devastated. She was an incredible person, highly respected, top of a class, everything. She was like a perfect human being. 20 years old, just started. She was like a baby. She was so proud." Contrasting the tragedy, Trump also used the meeting to praise the National Guard's efforts, noting that despite the recent shooting, Washington, D.C. has "become a really safe place" thanks to their work in reducing crime.
