Army chief reviews operational readiness in north-east sector

General M M Naravane reviewed the operational preparedness along the Line of Actual Control during a visit to the north-east on Tuesday, even as the military confrontation with China continues in eastern Ladakh.

headquarters in Nagaland and Manipur to make a firsthand assessment of the ground situation,” said an officer.

Gen Naravane also met Nagaland governor R N Ravi and chief minister Neiphiu Rio to discuss the prevailing security situation in their state. “He assured them of the wholehearted support of the Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in the state and ensuring security along the Indo-Myanmar border,” said the officer.
