Apna Dal (K) withdraws candidates from 3 Lok Sabha seats
LUCKNOW: Apna Dal (Kameravadi), which had earlier declared its intention to contest three Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections, has reversed its decision. In a statement issued by the party's Central Office Secretary Ram Sanehi Patel, it was announced that the party will soon be releasing a revised list of candidates.
Apna Dal (Kameravadi), a constituent of the India alliance, had recently announced its candidacy for the Lok Sabha elections from the Kaushambi, Phulpur, and Mirzapur seats. However, following this announcement, party officials have decided to withdraw their candidature from these seats.
The party had previously contested the 2022 assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP). Despite their earlier collaboration, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav had clarified that there would be no alliance with Apna Dal (Kameravadi) for the 2024 elections. With this reversal, Apna Dal (Kameravadi) is expected to unveil a new list of candidates in the near future. Recently, the Samajwadi Party had snapped its alliance with Apna Dal Kameravadi (AD-K)party for the polls.
On Friday, AD-K leader Pallavi Patel had said it was now for the Congress to decide if her party will remain a part of the INDIA bloc.
On the possibility of joining NDA, Pallavi had said the party leadership will take a call if any offer comes from the BJP. Answering media queries at a press conference in Lucknow, Pallavi had expressed her displeasure over her party not being taken seriously as an alliance partner. She said whatever happened with Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, the same was happening with Patel Rajmata Krishna Patel - the president of AD (K).
