1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict dies

NAGPUR: Abdul Gani Ismail Turk, 68, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, was on Thursday declared dead at the Government Medical College and Hospital here.


He was lodged in Nagpur Central Jail where he was shifted from Pune’s

Yerawada

jail in 2014. He was earlier facing death sentence which had been reduced to life by the Supreme Court.

On April 22, he had to be rushed to the GMCH but was later discharged. On Thursday, Turk fell unconscious at the prison hospital and later he was declared dead at GMCH.

The jail authorities rushed him to the GMCH where he was declared dead an hour later.
