12-yr-old Patna boy kidnapped

PATNA: Barely a day after the PatnaHigh Court asked the Bihar government to submit a status report of cases ofkidnapping-for-ransom across the state, a 12-year-old student was kidnappedwhile he was on the way to school on Friday.Akash Pandey aliasAnshu, a Class VII student of DAV School, Shashtrinagar, was on his way toschool when some unidentified persons in a green Maruti van knocked down hisbicycle, forced him into the vehicle and then sped away. The incident occurredon a lane behind J D Women's College even as parents were going to drop theirwards to school. Some guardians said a masked man sporting a red cap was drivingthe van.
