THE citizens of Hyderabad will soonhave additional lung space to breathe fresh air. The Municipal Corporationproposes to create a rock garden cum theme park with boating facilities.The proposed “designer garden�, would come up on a 35-acreland between Jubilee Hills and Toli Chowki. According to senior officialsof MCH, plans for the proposed garden are getting ready and work would beginsoon. The six crore project “ will be a blend of Shilparamam and NTRgardens, which have become major tourist destinations. The landscape designer ofNTR gardens, Nitish Rai is likely to be entrusted with the job of planning thelandscape for this park�, the officials add. This park will haverestaurants, water theme and pathways. However, the MCH is yet to decide whetherit would be a pay and use park like the Brahmananda Reddy Park or the NTRgardens. “The possibility of making it into a pay and use park ismore probable�, the officials add. The MCH is of the opinion thatmore and more such parks would not only add beauty to the city but would alsohelp in improving the ecology of the city. Already the MCH has constructeda boundary wall at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs to prevent encroachment.
