A person feeling unwell died on the way to hospital during busy evening hours in Mumbai. How can better help be given in such cases?

Ashok Kanse starts feeling ill in train and calls his wife. She is there at the station to receive him, but gets little help. Home guards at hand don’t act and the man dies. Sad part is he was just metres away from a hospital located less than a km from Kurla station during the busy evening hours.

There should be emergency ambulances which can also provide quick treatment. It should be near both the sides of Railway Station. There should be Emergency Helpline Number System for these ambulances to communicate easily and to provide it quickly. For ambulance service, there must be many doctors and nurses to help patients.

There are less chances to save the person as busy evenig hours condition is there & second condition is the overcrowde area. The only thing can be there is if reservation coach is there then Railway can provide list of doctors travelling in that coach near main gate So that atleast some people could be saved of such mishaps.

There is not a single foolproof method under existing overcrowded urban environment which can get help to a seriously ill person. Large number of our population hardly have regular check ups. Symptoms of illnesses are not always very distinctive. Sudden illness can occur anywhere not necessarily at the railway stations.Unless smart traffic control systems are developed, proper traffic flow is regulated and drivers are penalized effectively for violating traffic laws, most efforts will yield minimum payback. Media can play a very constructive roll in educating drivers..
