Overcoming disability, Amartya vows to fulfil mom’s last wish

Born physically handicap, lost his mother when in class V, underwent surgeries... Life seems certainly not fair to Amartya Anshul Narnoni. Not burdened by the inequalities of life, Amartya, however, ensured that he does not lag behind in studies. Amartya scored distinction (76.66% marks) in the HSC exam.

“A year before the crucial HSC exam, I had to undergo an operation and was bed-ridden most of the year. However, this did not deter me and I continued studying even in that situation and scored 76.66% in the HSC exam. We have to understand that life is not the same for everyone and you have to come out of your comfort zone to achieve something.”

Though Amartya lost his mother at a very tender age, her memories still continue to guide and inspire him. “I remember my mom used to tell all relatives that her son will become a doctor,” Amartya recalls. “I feel lonely sometimes but my father motivates me,” said Amartya, who has already cleared the JEE Advanced, but his main focus is on NEET.

Now his only aim is to fulfil his mother last wish by becoming an orthopaedic surgeon. “I realize that no matter what, I have my mother’s blessings. It doesn’t matter how much disabled I am, I will fulfil my mom’s dream,” he said with a twinkle in eyes, adding he is going to offer concession to the needy when he becomes orthopaedic surgeon.
