Happy 38th Birthday Gauri Pradhan Tejwani!

Gauri was born on September 16 in Pune to a Maharashtrian family. Her father Subhash Vasudeo Pradhan is a retired Indian army officer and her mom Asha is a housewife. Gauri has an elder brother Bharat who is a Petrochemical Engineer and a younger sister Geetanjali who is a doctor. Gauri did her schooling from Carmel Convent School and graduation from S.P.College.

Gauri started her career with modeling and commercials. She made her acting debut in and as Noorjehan, the Mughal Empress which aired on Door Darshan. It was in 2001 when Gauri became a household name by bagging the popular TV show ‘Kutumb’ and essayed the role of Gauri Mittal. The show ended in 2002 but the channel and production house brought the second season of the show ‘Kutumb Season 2’ with the same leads.

Soon after in 2003, she did a cameo as Shweta in Star Plus’ ‘Krishna Arjun’ and then she appeared in another family drama named ‘Naam Gum Jayega’ on Sony TV as the female lead Priyanka Singh. In 2003, she also appeared as Mayuri in one of the episodes of the horror tele-series ‘Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat’.

After a string of cameos and a short series, Gauri was approached in 2004 to play the supporting lead as Nandini Thakkar in the most popular long running TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ on Star Plus. This role brought her numerous awards and appreciation. In the same year, she appeared in ‘Isse Kehte Hain Golmaal Ghar’ on Sahara One as the main lead.

In 2004, she entered the popular show ‘Special Squad’ on Star One as the Forensic Expert Dr Deepika Ghosh. Gauri also made special appearances in other shows like ‘Rihaee’ and ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin’ on Sony TV. In 2006, she participated in the couple dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 2’ on Star Plus with her husband Hiten Tejwani.

In 2008, she entered the youth oriented show ‘Left Right Left’ that was aired on SAB TV as Captain Shona Das, an army consultant. In the same year, she along with her husband Hiten appeared as contestant in 2 reality shows: ‘Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar’ and ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?

Gauri got married to popular TV actor Hiten Tejwani on April 29, 2004. The couple is proud parents of twins: son Neevan and daughter Katya.

Gauri was last seen playing the role of Falguni in the popular TV show ‘Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi’. Gauri wasn’t much happy with the way her character was shaping up and so decided to quit the show.
