NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has bite the bullet again. The company has announced revisions to Airtel Prepaid plans, a move aimed to help strengthen its ARPU (average revenue per user). The new message appears to be that the direction to follow is of boosting profitability and not just chasing subscriber numbers. Airtel Prepaid packs will now start from Rs 79 Smart Recharge.

The leading mobile service provider has Airtel has discontinued its Rs 49 entry level Prepaid recharge. As per the company, the Airtel Prepaid Smart Recharge of Rs 79 will offer up to four times more outgoing minutes of usage to customers along with double data. Airtel Prepaid Smart Recharge of Rs 79 offers talktime work Rs 64, 200MB data and 28 days validity. The revision in the plan is effective from
July 29, 2021.

The company says that the change is in line with Airtel's focus on offering superior connectivity solutions. "Airtel customers on entry level recharges can now stay connected for longer without worrying about their account balance," adds the company.

Cheapest plans from Vodafone and Reliance JioAirtel rivals Reliance Jio and Vodafone's still have their cheapest Prepaid plans priced under Rs 50. Reliance Jio's cheapest plan is Rs 39, the plans is exclusively for JioPhone users. It offers 14 days validity, 100MB data and unlimited talktime. The cheapest Vodafone-Idea plan starts at Rs 49, has 28 days validity and offers talktime worth Rs 38, and 100MB data.
