You might have cut out bread, rice, even fruit, thinking that's the real secret. But now, your energy's kind of low, your workouts feel flat, and you're craving sugar every night. There's another truth: carbs are not the enemy; they're actually your body's main energy source. And when you cut them too low for too long, your metabolism starts to slow down, your workouts suffer, and then your body starts breaking down muscle instead of burning fat,” the coach said.

The fitness trainer also explained that there are different types of carbs. So which one you choose also matters in your weight loss journey. “Now, all carbs are not created equal. You got your complex carbs, like rice, oats, potatoes, and even fruit, all of which give you steady energy to help your body recover after training.”
The trainer also emphasized that people on a weight loss diet to stay away from processed carbs. “Now let's talk about processed carbs, your cakes, pastries, chips, sodas, all of which spike your blood sugar, increase your cravings, and make it easier for you to store fat,” he said.
“But when you pair the right carbs with lean protein and veggies, your body uses that for fuel and not storage. And that means better workouts, more muscle retention, and faster fat loss. So if you're serious about losing fat, don't cut carbs; control them. Eat real food, time your carbs around your workouts, and just let your body burn fat the way it's meant to,” he explained.
Carbohydrates are an essential part of a healthy diet, and they are your body's primary and preferred fuel source. So, removing them completely will only backfire.
