A video shared online shows three large vending machines placed along a wall. At first, they look completely normal, like the ones that sell chips or cold drinks. Nothing unusual. But when the person filming walks closer, the surprise kicks in. Inside the machines are neatly packed underwear instead of snacks.

The machines look clean and well-maintained, with bright lighting and digital screens. Everything about them looks official. The woman recording the video can’t help laughing as she shows what’s inside, clearly amused by the unexpected sight.

It didn’t take long for the clip to travel across social media. Some people found the idea funny. Others joked that it could come in handy during “emergencies.” A few users were simply curious, wondering who thought of it and how often something like this would actually be used.

Vending machines at metro stations aren’t new. We’re used to grabbing a bottle of water or a packet of biscuits while rushing for a train. But underwear? That caught people off guard.

Whether practical or just surprising, the machines have definitely sparked conversations online. For now, they’ve added one more strange-but-memorable moment to the long list of things people experience while travelling on the Delhi Metro.
