Uncooked mutton despite 20 attempts? Andhra man lodges a complaint at a police station over 'chewy' mutton amid foiled Ugadi celebrations
Police stations are places where one might expect to be reporting serious crimes, but one incident turned out to be an exception as a guy with a pot in hand marched into the law not for crime, but for cuisine gone wrong. It happened amid the festive buzz of Ugadi, when families fire up stoves for traditional treats. But one man's delight soured into desperation after dozens of failed attempts at cooking.
Fed up, Haji didn't toss it out. Instead, he took the entire vessel, brimming with uncooked mutton, straight to Tadipatri Town Police Station. There, Town Circle Inspector Ananda Rao met the unusual complainant, as News18 Telugu reported.
CI Ananda Rao sprang into action, contacting the vendor directly. The vendor agreed to replace the defective meat with an equal quantity of fresh mutton, and Haji walked away with good-as-new cuts, ready for round 21 of cooking!

The station buzzed with disbelief
According to the same article, Haji filed a formal complaint against the meat vendor, claiming the purchase soured his festive plans. Locals speculated the ram was simply too old, making the flesh notoriously tough like leather that laughs at ladles. According to the Deccan Chronicle, people in the area believe that if the mutton is too old, it won’t cook. But why did the first batch remain uncooked?
The vendor stayed mum on why the first batch flunked so spectacularly, but old mutton was probably credited to its toughness, however the vendor stayed mum.Social media lit up with reactions
Word spread like wildfire in Tadipatri, turning the station into a storytelling hub. Social media lit up with memes of "immortal mutton" and jokes about police now vetting veggies. "The incident has since become a hot topic of discussion across Tadipatri, leaving locals both amused and astonished.end of article
