'Masthishka Maranam' OTT release: Where to watch Rajisha Vijayan’s cyberpunk thriller

According to the latest updates, Krishand's recent cyberpunk thriller 'Masthishka Maranam' is set for its digital premiere.The OTT release announcement was made by the Rajisha, who plays the lead in the film, on social media. The film will stream on Netflix soon. However, the exact OTT release date has not been revealed yet. The film, directed by Krishand, released in theatres on February 27, 2026. 'Masthishka Maranam' stands out for its futuristic setting and also for it's bold concept. The film is set in 2046 in a dystopian Neo Kochi. It perfectly blends cyberpunk elements along with dark humour.The plot follows Bimal, a grieving father who struggles to cope with the loss of his daughter. His wife erases memories of their child to move on. However, Bimal refuses to let go. He begins exploring near-death experiences of others and during one such attempt, he gains access to an actress’s memories. This leads him to witness a shocking murder. The film received mixed to positive reactions from viewers. One review noted, "Just like Krishand's other movies, this one too is filled with the honesty amd that urge to create. A few things I noted where - 1. His other movies had a certain flow to it. This was a little bit more of a disjointed mess, atleast in the first half. 2. The world building and characters were fine, and the pop culture references were spot on. 3. Performances were ok, with Rajisha, Divyaprabha and Amit doing great and the legendary Jagadish giving yet another fine performance."Another review stated, "The concept had real potential, and many of the dialogues genuinely landed - there were moments that made the audience laugh. But that's where the positives end. Beyond that it's just an average storyline stretched beyond its limits with overly repeated scenes, buried under overstimulating visuals and painfully exaggerated performances. There's no emotional payoff, no real takeaway - just noise. Honestly, one of the weakest films I've seen in a long time. Very unlike what we usually expect from such a strong film industry."The film features notable performances from Rajisha Vijayan along with Divyaprabha and Amit.
