The Peter Bergmann case centers on the unexplained death of an unidentified man in Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland, around June 16, 2009. Registering at the Sligo City Hotel on June 12 under the alias "Peter Bergmann," his activities were recorded on CCTV, yet his motives and background remain unknown.

What actually happened?
On the morning of June 16, 2009, the man's body was found at Rosses Point beach near Sligo. Despite a five-month investigation, no one couldn't identify the man or find any leads. The man used the alias Peter Bergmann, paid in cash, and gave a fake address in Austria. He had a German accent and arrived in Sligo from Derry, Northern Ireland. CCTV footage showed Bergmann leaving the hotel multiple times with a purple plastic bag that appeared to contain items he was disposing of, and he seemed to avoid surveillance cameras.

Suffering from many medical conditions
The autopsy revealed that Peter Bergmann suffered from advanced prostate cancer, bone tumors, and ischaemic heart disease, but no drugs were found in his system.
Various theoriesTheories suggest he may have been a spy, a fugitive, or terminally ill and seeking an anonymous death. The case gained renewed attention with the 2013 documentary, The Last Days of Peter Bergmann. Interpol was unable to identify him, and his DNA, dental records, and remains are stored by Irish authorities, awaiting a match that may never come.
