Shocking! Man's 3-minute death experience unveils a chilling revelation about hell
Many people have aspirations to lead a virtuous life, with hopes of ending up in paradise after death. However, others believe their actions might end up putting them in eternal torment in hell. These notions of the afterlife have been spun into religious mythologies for hundreds of years. Many have lived and then returned with wonderful tales of their encounters, which shed light on what may await death.
A lot of near-death experiences are transformative events that realign people's perception of life and death. People who have had such experiences often come back to life with a stronger sense of purpose and a turn toward living life with virtues. The experience described in the Reddit story is one classic illustration of how these experiences can enlighten people about life after death and open them up to individual transformation and change.
A Reddit user recounted a story of a friend who had "died" for three minutes and returned to life with great insights. The friend explained that the person had overdosed on drugs and was being taken to the hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead in the ambulance because his heart had stopped beating. Miraculously, after three minutes, the man came back to life, to the amazement of the doctors.
The man described what he experienced during those three minutes in his narration. He said that it felt as though he were being submerged in ice-cold water and completely blinded by total darkness. He experienced no emotions; he just was acutely aware of his presence in an abyss. The shock of the sensation led him to term it hell and, henceforth, mark it as a severe warning to him to alter all his positive features. He then, on recovery, promised himself that he would be righteous and lead a meaningful life for the experience seemed to have had a purpose behind it.
The man allegedly became a very new man, much changed. He was henceforth deeply dedicated to living the best life guided by morality and virtue, thinking the darkness and loneliness he had suffered during the few moments in his brief near-death experience as some form of hell. The tale is very heart-wrenching and represents just how these incidents can really have an influence on people and may force people to change many aspects of their lives.
The Reddit post elicited a wide range of responses from other users, most of whom shared their own interpretations of hell or near-death experiences. One commenter recalled a childhood story their mother had shared, where she dreamed of flames and heard screams, which she believed were signs of her fate. This vision also helped her change the way she conducted herself and was a better person. Other readers concurred that hell was darkness and isolation forever, not this burning, scorching scene often described in religious literature.
