James Webb Telescope shares images of stars and galaxies

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has taken some truly amazing pictures of stars, galaxies, and distant parts of space. These mesmerizing images show stars being born, huge clouds of gas and dust, and the leftovers of giant stars that exploded a long time ago. Here’s a look at some of the most breathtaking views it has captured.

2/6

Wolf-Rayet star

One of the images shows a rare kind of massive star called a Wolf-Rayet star. This type of star is very hot and is slowly coming to the end of its life. As it does, it releases huge amounts of dust into space. The telescope captured this dust glowing in space, forming a bright and beautiful cloud around the star. This helps researchers study how stars create and spread dust across the universe.

3/6

A look at the famous Pillars of Creation

The Pillars of Creation are one of the most well-known sights in space. They’re large clouds of gas and dust where new stars are being born. The James Webb Telescope has shown them in more detail than ever before. In the new image, we can see the structure of the pillars more clearly, as well as the young stars forming deep inside them.

4/6

Cassiopeia A

Cassiopeia A is what remains after a huge star exploded in a supernova. It’s around 11,000 light-years away from Earth. What’s left is a large, glowing cloud made of gas and tiny particles. The telescope has captured it in sharp detail, giving scientists a better idea of how explosions like this help shape the universe.

5/6

NGC 604

NGC 604 is a massive area in a nearby galaxy where many young stars are being formed. It’s much bigger than similar areas in our own galaxy. The telescope’s image shows over 200 young, bright stars in one part of space.

6/6

NGC 1333

NGC 1333 is a lesser-known but fascinating part of space. It’s found in the Perseus constellation and is home to many young stars hidden behind thick clouds of dust. In the past, it was difficult to see what was going on there. But now, thanks to the telescope’s infrared camera, we can finally peek inside and see a busy region where new stars are quietly being born.
