Man shocked after finding ‘piece of glass’ in Indian chocolate; company responds
A food safety issue is getting a lot of attention on social media after a man claimed he found a piece of glass inside a dark chocolate from Swiggy’s private-label brand Noice. The incident has left people concerned and has once again raised questions about how safe packaged food really is.
The matter came to light after an X user, @DealsDhamaka, shared the post online and called it a “shocking incident.” According to him, one of his followers, @Pras_SwiftMojo, had ordered dark chocolate from Instamart.
While eating it, he broke a piece to give to his child. That’s when things took a worrying turn. The child immediately said something felt sharp and returned it.
The post explained, “While he was eating it, he broke a piece to give to his child. The child immediately returned it, saying something had pricked him. To his absolute shock, there was a piece of glass embedded inside the chocolate.”
It also raised concern over safety, saying, “This is extremely concerning and unacceptable; food safety should never be compromised. Shameful.”
The customer also shared his side in the comments. He made it clear that the intention was not to gain attention but to highlight the issue.
He wrote, “Thanks @DealsDhamaka, just wanted to ensure it reaches people and not for any farming. Brands don't have the accountability and wanted to make sure they serve quality as they claim on the labels.”
Noice responded to the issue on its official X handle and said the matter is being taken seriously.
The brand wrote, “Hi Vineeth, this is concerning, and such consumer safety complaints are taken very seriously. We have reached out to the customer for details and are investigating this on priority with the manufacturing partner and across the supply chain.”
