Social media users have mastered the art of turning every content, be it memes, songs, hashtags, into a trend instantly that returns often and soon becomes so popular that almost everyone you know knows about it.
On May 13, social media was swept by one such trend, popularly referred to as the “Main Tera Day”. The trend once again took over platforms like X and Instagram, and this time, Google India joined the fun too.
Social media users immediately turned the date into a celebration of musical nostalgia. People shared memes, lip-sync videos, reels, and screenshots of the date while referencing the song lyric, and it instantly became a huge inside song joke!
Although Kalank received mixed reviews when it released in 2019, its music remained hugely popular online even then. And today, “May 13 = Main Tera” became a huge trend, and users on social media are grooving to it.
The trend also sparked humorous reactions from users who joked about texting their crushes because it was officially “Main Tera Day.”
Across Instagram and X, users posted edits from Kalank, midnight countdown reels, and nostalgic tributes to the song.

The joke comes from the popular romantic song from the 2019 Bollywood film Kalank, where the lyric “Main tera, main tera” became widely loved among fans with reels raging on social media. The soundtrack of the film was composed by Pritam, while the song featured vocals by Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra.Although Kalank received mixed reviews when it released in 2019, its music remained hugely popular online even then.
