“Final destination in real life…” says social media as Udupi car rolls out of control – video inside
It was just another morning on December 29, 2025, in Udupi. Everything seemed normal. Then suddenly, things went wrong. A parked car rolled backward on its own and hit a few bikes and a rickshaw. This happened near Omega Cushion on Jamia Masjid Road. Thankfully, CCTV caught the whole thing. The video has now gone viral, and people online cannot stop talking about it.
The footage is shocking. The car moves in reverse without any warning and crashes into other vehicles. According to a report by News18, the driver was trying to operate the parked car when it went out of control. One bike rider got seriously hurt and was taken to a private hospital. The rickshaw driver and a few others suffered minor injuries.
As soon as the video spread, people online had a lot to say. Many were shocked and confused. Some wrote, “How the freak moved backwards. It had to be in reverse gear. If not, the car maker should be sued.” Others focused on the driver, saying, “Learn to drive manual first. Then switch to anything later if you wish,” and, “An automatic car does not move by itself. The driver messed up.”
Some viewers blamed technology, warning, “This is why you need ADAS Level 2 on Indian roads.” Others guessed what might have happened: “This is really scary and unexplainable. It could be that the car was already in reverse gear and the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator hard.” Many also criticised inexperienced drivers, writing, “Automatic cars have caused idiots to drive cars, and they drive like toy cars.”
As reported by News18, after the accident, the Udupi traffic police registered a case. They are investigating how a parked car suddenly went out of control and caused injuries.
The incident has sparked wider discussions about road safety, driver awareness, and handling automatic cars safely in busy city areas.
