“Everyone says Dubai is safe, but last week…”: He left a delivery outside for seven days- you won’t believe what happened
On Instagram, one simple video has caught everyone’s attention. A Ugandan man shared how his Amazon parcel stayed at his doorstep in Dubai for a full week while he was away. The clip has become viral because it highlights how safe the city is said to be, using a very normal, everyday situation that many people relate to.
The man, identified as Rashid Lumunye, shared that he had ordered an item from Amazon before leaving Dubai. The delivery arrived at his home after he had already flown to Uganda, so he decided to see whether the parcel would remain untouched till he returned.
In the video, he says, “Everyone says Dubai is safe, but last week, before I left Dubai, I ordered an item from Amazon, and it was delivered to my doorstep while I was away, here in Uganda. Right now, I am heading back to Dubai, and I want to find out if my delivery is still there at my doorstep.”
Rashid also records his travel experience so viewers can follow the entire story from Uganda to Dubai.
He says, “I was flying with Emirates from Entebbe to Dubai, so I did say goodbye to my parents and headed straight to the check-in area, checked in, and then proceeded to board my flight. Around 5 pm, we boarded the flight, and after just five hours, we landed at Dubai International DXB airport at around 10.50 pm. It was time to get a car, go home, and show you the big reveal.”
When he finally reaches his home, he walks up to the door to check whether the package is still there after a whole week.
He says, “Okay so right now I’m home, and let's go and check if my package that was delivered last week is still there. Right here we come, and the package is still here for an entire week it has been here right at my doorstep. This is one of the beauties of living in one of the safest places on earth.”
The parcel is seen exactly where it was left.
The video has crossed lakhs of views on Instagram. Many users reacted to the clip and shared their opinions.
One user wrote, “This is why people trust the system there so much.”
Another person commented, “Try this experiment in many other cities and the result would be very different.”
One viewer added, “Dubai safety is on another level, honestly.”
Others also said, “This is impressive and reassuring,” “No fear of theft at all,” and “One week untouched says everything.”
The video is short and simple, but it has sparked a wider chat online about how safe Dubai is considered to be. For many viewers, the untouched parcel outside the house for an entire week stood out the most.
