Chilling gym video: Man gets stuck under 165 kg barbell, what happens next is shocking
A video from a gym is going viral and it is getting a lot of attention for the right reasons. Many people online are talking about it and sharing their views. The clip shows how a simple workout moment can suddenly become risky. It has made people think about how important safety is while lifting heavy weights.
In the video, a man is seen getting ready for a 165 kg bench press. A woman is helping him as they both carefully place the barbell in position.
He starts the lift in a normal way. He lowers the bar towards his chest, but when he tries to push it back up, he struggles. It becomes clear that the weight is too heavy for him.
As he gets stuck, the woman quickly tries to help him. She attempts to lift the barbell, but it is too heavy. Even both of them together are not able to move it easily.
During this moment, the bar slowly drops lower and comes close to his neck. The situation becomes tense as they both try hard to lift the weight, but it does not move much.
For a few seconds, things look serious. There is no one else around to help. The man keeps pushing while the woman continues trying.
After putting in a lot of effort, she manages to push the bar slightly upward. This gives him a chance to escape. He quickly rolls away from under the bar and gets off the bench.
Both of them look shaken after the incident. They hug each other at the end, clearly relieved.
The video has led to many reactions online. Some people criticised the decision to attempt such a heavy lift without proper support.
One user wrote, “What an idiot, why is he asking her to give him a spot.” Another said, “That spotter is it even 40kgs in weight and he was expecting her to save him? What a moron.”
Some comments focused on safety. One person wrote, “Complete idiot, ego lifting. Don’t put locks if you know you can’t lift it clean, have a spotter that actually has strength to spot you. He could have easily died there; that weight on neck could be fatal.”
There were also harsh reactions. One user commented, “Average IQ level in India. Taking support from his 50 kg wife, maid or whatever for a 165 kg barbell bench press!! Develop your brains before developing your muscles!!,” while another added, “If you are weak give support from the corner side in these situations.”
At the same time, some users appreciated the woman’s effort. Comments like “At least girl has good nature and instincts” and “At least she didn’t give up” praised her for trying to help.
