Although female actors have less screen time as compared to their male counterparts, their importance in the film cannot be ruled out. There are actresses in the Tollywood industry who have had flourishing careers but they eventually disappeared from the scene for the reasons best known to them. Here we take a look at some of the actresses who has been away from the silver screen from a long time now.

Anuradha Mehta

Anuradha Mehta was a model before becoming an actor. She shot to fame with her debut film ‘Arya’, which was her only successful stint in Tollywood. Starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, the romantic entertainer was directed by Sukumar. She tried her luck in several Telugu films but in vain. She also has films like ‘Nuvvante Naakishtam’ (2005), ‘Maharajasri’ (2007) and ‘Veduka’ (2009) to her credit. The actress soon became a distant image in the Tollywood industry. She was last seen in the Kannada film ‘Honganasu’ opposite Prem.

Parvati Melton

The American model-cum-actress made her debut with 2005 romantic comedy entertainer ‘Vennela’ and also achieved many accolades for her performance. She then featured in films such as ‘Game’, ‘Allare Allari’, ‘Madhumasam’, ‘Jalsa’, ‘Dookudu’, ‘Srimannarayana’, and ‘Yamaho Yama’. Unfortunately, the ravishing beauty could not establish herself as a prominent actress in Tollywood and then vanished from the glamorous world. She is married to an entrepreneur Shamsu Lalani in 2013 and is now enjoying the marital bliss.

Richa Gangopadhyay

One of the beautiful actresses in the Telugu cinema, Richa Gangopadhyay made her debut with ‘Leader’ opposite Rana Daggubati. While the Sekhar Kammula directorial was a hit, Richa became an instant favourite among the masses. She started getting offers from the big directors and popular production houses. The actress was seen in super hit films like ‘Mirapakaay’, ‘Sarocharu’, ‘Mirchi’, to name a few and gave her best performance in ‘Mirchi’ alongside Prabhas. But soon after, Richa Gangopadhyay disappeared from the silver screens. The actress moved to the US to focus on her long-term career ambitions.

Saloni Aswani

She has been away from the spotlight for over a decade now. The Sindhi-speaking girl fit right in there when she first stepped into the scene in ‘Dhana 51’ opposite Sumanth Akkineni. The absolutely stunning actress stole the spotlight in most everything she did. She has acted in 24 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi so far. She shot to fame with blockbuster ‘Maryada Ramanna’ which was directed by SS Rajamouli. With this film, Saloni seemed destined for stardom. Her long list of credits includes, ‘Oka Oorilo’, ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Adhinayakudu’ and ‘Race Gurram’. She was last seen in ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’.

Isha Chawla

After appearing in several commercials for corporate shoots, Isha Chawla hit a home run out of the gate with 2011’s ‘Prema Kavali’ opposite Aadi. The K Vijay Bhaskar directorial struck the right chord and remained a runaway hit. Of course, after that, ‘Poola Rangadu’, and then on to starring alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in ‘Srimannarayana’ in 2012, she has once again teamed up with her co-actor Sunil in ‘Mr Pellikoduku’, the Hindi remake of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, to be directed by Devi Prasad. However, later on the actress disappeared from our sight.

Aditi Agarwal

Aditi Agarwal, younger sister of actress Aarthi Agarwal revealed her interest to act in films and made her debut with the K Raghavendra Rao 100th directorial ‘Gangotri’ in 2003. Alongside Allu Arjun, she found huge success and everybody was all praise for the actress. She has also has been part of films like ‘Koduku’, ‘Vidyardhi’, ‘Lokame Kothaga’ and ‘Em Babu Laddu Kavala’. Aditi reportedly got away from showbiz to get married and settle down in life.
