This is the second film of Koratala Siva and after listening to his script Mahesh Babu gave his nod to do the film immediately. The actor is adored and respected for his performance and humanity. Just like what he has done on the screen, Mahesh Babu has adopted two villages in real life. The film saw him essay a responsible rich guy Harsha Vardhan, who adopts his ancestral village to make it new. He strikes up an amazing chemistry with Shruti Haasan onscreen and the film became a sensation at that time.

Mahesh Babu was last seen in this film directed by Koratala Siva. The duo worked together again for this blockbuster hit. He played the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Bharat, and he became an inspiration for a million youngsters with his notable reforms in the film.
