Did you have any challenges as a woman?

As a woman, of course, there are barriers, but we have that energy, guts and family support. So we can fight with every single thing in our life. Still, I am chasing my dreams with the support of my family and society. I have always felt supported and propelled as a woman in the industry. It is also in my nature to be strong and I have never felt inhibited by my gender but empowered. I hope this will continue and spread for women globally.

How can we encourage more women to pursue acting as a profession?

Nowadays people are aware of what’s going on in society and how people react. Moreover, parents are very supportive. It’s not like that whether a profession is good or bad. Any profession is good. But we need good strength, motivation and focus. So if we focus on a particular thing, we can achieve anything in life. And of course, we can encourage women to pursue acting as a profession because they dream to be an actor and they want to see themselves on the silver screen. It’s very important that they keep their eyes to be much focused.

Is there anyone that inspires you in your career?

Yes, my mom inspired me a lot. In fact, she is the only person who motivated me to get into the film industry. She wanted to be a great actor. Her favourite actresses are Sridevi and Jaya Prada. She wanted to be one of them. But it didn’t happen. I am so happy that living in her dreams become my dream. I can fulfil her dreams as well as mine. Earlier, I was not into this profession as everyone knows that I was a volleyball player. After I became Femina Miss India Chhattisgarh, I got so many good opportunities and I became a part of the film industry, especially in Telugu. So, I am super happy because of my mom.

How do you and your mother spend quality time together?

I and my mom make time to spend with each other. Even I have shootings, I take my mom to shoot spots and we spend a lot of time together there. We do yoga together in the vanity van. We both walk and run. If I’m free and I am at home, I help my mom in the kitchen and I cook. I always become like my mom because she is my inspiration and all. She is the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my life.

What’s your message to the young women out there on International Women's Day?

We, women, are wonderful. We are the most powerful persons on the earth. We manage so many things like family, profession, workplace tensions etc. Whatever role you want in life, strive for what you want and have confidence and passion in your abilities. Being a woman is a beautiful thing itself. I am so proud that I am a woman and if there is the next birth, I want to be a woman. Thank you so much and Happy Women’s Day!
