Vijay Sethupathi took up the Green India Challenge after Uppena director Bucchi Babu Sana nominated him for the same.
In a video shared by his spokesperson, the Vikram Vedha and Nenu Rowdy Ne star can be seen planting a sapling at his home and watering it with care. While he doesn’t speak in the video and ends it by turning towards the camera and folding his hands, sharing the video his spokesperson wrote, “Makkal selvan @VijaySethuOffl accepted the #GreenIndiaChallenge given by #Uppena director @BuchiBabuSana and planted saplings at his home.
He expressed appreciation towards this great initiative & requested all those waiting for #Uppena should also take part. @MPsantoshtrs.” (sic)
Vijay Sethupathi has so far mostly been seen in films like Pizza, Nenu Rowdy Ne and Petta in their dubbed Telugu versions. He finally made his Telugu debut with the 2019 Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. His second Telugu film will now be Bucchi Babu Sana’s Panjaa Vaisshnav Tej,
Krithi Shetty starrer Uppena, which will see music by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was supposed to hit screens in April and Vijay Sethupathi’s first-look as the antagonist of the film was also released. However, the film hasn’t hit screens yet due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While still unconfirmed, news also does rounds that Vijay Sethupathi, who has his hands full with Tamil projects, has been roped in for Sukumar’s
Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa. It remains to be seen what Vijay Sethupathi’s next Telugu project will be.
