This week new releases: Gear up for a fresh week with these 5 Telugu films

Cinema lovers, there’s something special for you in theatres this week. If you’re not yet over the mania of visual effects and need some more high-octane action in life, the cinemas will not disappoint you. There are five Telugu movies releasing this week that promise some thrills that will keep you hooked to the screen. From RGV’s Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu to a unique concept Hulchul, every movie has something special to offer you.

So if you are a die-hard fan of Telugu cinema, here’s what you need to look forward to films releasing this week.

Ram Gopal Varma Kamma Raajyam lo Kadapa Redlu was supposed to hit the screens last week. Due to censor issues, the title has been changed and postponed to tomorrow. Tilted Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu, the movie is now releasing on December 12. Starring Ajmal Ameer as Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the promos of Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu has generated enough curiosity among the Telugu-speaking audience with its similarities to the political situation in Andhra Pradesh. Ravi Shankar has composed music for this flick while Suresh Varma handled the camera. Anwar Ali is in charge of editing.

Set in the 17th century, Mamangam tells the tale of suicide warriors aka chaaverukal against the backdrop of Mamangam Maholtsavam. The story revolves around a 12-year-old boy named Chandunni and the bravest warrior of the era as they try to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. The film, starring Mammootty, Unni Mukundan, Prachi Tehlan and Anu Sithara among others, is set for a December 12 release. On the technical ground, the film has Manoj Pillai as the cinematographer and Raja Mohammed as the editor.

Venky Mama, starring Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya, Payal Rajput and Raashi Khanna, is all set to hit screens on December 13, much to the delight of fans. The film will see Venkatesh in the role of a farmer and Naga Chaitanya as a soldier. The film is directed by KS Ravindra who had earlier helmed super hits like Jai Lava Kusa and Balupu. Touted to be an action family-entertainer, the movie is bankrolled by D Suresh Babu, TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under Suresh Productions in association with People Media Factory.

TV anchor Sudheer Anand, who is known popularly known as Sudigaali Sudheer, is all set to make his silver screen debut as a lead actor in the upcoming film Software Sudheer. The comic caper features the Jabardasth actor essaying the role of a software engineer and will star opposite Dhanya Balakrishna. The movie is directed by Rajasekhar Reddy Pulicharla and Produced by K Sekhar Raju under Sekhara Art Creations. The film has an ensemble star cast which includes famous singer Gaddar, veteran heroine Indraja, Sayaji Shinde, Prudhvi Raj and Posani Krishna Murali.

Hulchul, starring debutant Rudraksh Uthkam and Dhanya Balakrishna directed by Sripathi Karri and produced by Ganesh Kolluri under the banner MSK Digitals in collaboration with Sri Raghavendra Art Creations. Thota Raju of Arjun Reddy fame has handled the camera for the film, which has music by Hanuman and Bharath. Prawin Pudi edited the flick, which also features Krishnudu, Madhu Nandan, Gemini Suresh, Shanmukh, Jogi Naidu, Ravi Prakash, Priti Nigam, Banda Raghu and others. Hulchul is slated to hit the screens on December 14.
