During an interview, actor-comedian Ali said that there are reasons why Sobhan Babu decided to stop acting films. He said that he shared screen space with Sobhan Babu at the age of eight. Interestingly, after many years he had been roped in to play one of the lead roles alongside Sobhan Babu. He also said that he was very scared of acting as a hero with him. Then, the yesteryear actor had motivated him to be brave to perform alongside him.

While Ali is explaining the reason behind he stopped acting films, he said that he has been making movies and entertaining the audience for years. As he was growing older, the actor had decided to stop acting in films to remain beautiful in the minds of fans forever. Shobhan Babu did not introduce anyone to the film industry as his legacy. He did not encourage his children to get into movies. At that time, Shobhan Babu bought a few hundred acres of land around the city of Chennai. The film industry estimates that the lands still exist and their worth is hundreds of crores.
