‘Miss Grand India’ Meenakshi Chaudhary is making her film debut with Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu
Since the past few decades, beauty pageants have delivered many talented actresses both in Bollywood and regional cinema. While most of them tasted success and stardom on the celluloid, some divas failed to strike a chord on the silver screen. Most often than not, these beauty pageants are considered as a ticket to the showbiz arena as several heroines have kicked-off their film careers after being crowned as Miss State, Miss India, Miss World or Miss Universe. Some of the popular names include Aishwarya Rai, Juhi Chawla, Priyanka Chopra, Namrata Shirodkar and Sobhita Dhulipala.
The latest beauty to join the bandwagon is Meenakshi Chaudhary. Besides bagging the title of Miss Grand India at Femina Miss India 2018 pageant, the 22-year-old belle represented the country at Miss Grand International 2018 and was crowned the first runner-up. She forayed into acting with a Hindi web series and at present, she is romancing Sushanth in the upcoming Telugu film Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu. Miss India runner-up and India’s representative at Miss Grand International
Hailing from the planned city of Panchkula in Haryana, Meenakshi Chaudhary comes from an army background. Her journey in pageantry began with Fbb Campus Princess 2018 where she was crowned one of the winners from Patiala auditions. She bagged the Femina Miss Haryana title in 2018 and went on to represent her state in the annual Miss India pageant. Despite losing out to Anukreethy Vas, a college student from Tamil Nadu, Chaudhary won the sub-title of ‘Miss Photogenic’ and was later crowned Miss Grand India 2018.
State-level swimmer and badminton player; Bachelors in Dental Surgery
Meenakshi Chaudhary describes herself as an avid sportsperson. She was a state-level swimmer and Badminton player. At present, the bombshell is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery at Punjab. Opening up about her passion for beauty pageants, she said “Ever since I was a kid, I used to cut out pictures of Miss India and paste that on my cupboard always thinking 'I will be there one day wearing that crown.”
Forayed into acting in 2019 with the web-series Out of Love
After enjoying a fruitful start in modelling, Meenakshi forayed into acting by playing the crucial role of Alia Kashyap in the web-series Out of Love. The five-episode miniseries is a gripping tale of love, betrayal and revenge and since its release on the OTT platform; the cute actress has been receiving lots of love from the audience.
From an introvert to a confident woman; childhood dream come true
Meenakshi said that she was motivated by all the Miss India winners, Aishwarya Rai, Gul Panag, all of them. Revealing that her childhood fangirl dream has come true, she opened up on her transformation from an introvert to a confident woman. “The 35 days of Miss India helped me discover this other side to me. My confidence got a major boost. I was an introvert, I never took initiative. But here, I was answering in front of millions... It is a big transformation for me.”
Film debut opposite Sushanth in the upcoming Telugu film Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu
Meenakshi Chaudhary is making her leading lady debut opposite Sushanth in the upcoming Telugu film Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu. Touted to be a romantic-thriller based on real incidents, the muhurat shot of the film took place today (January 30) in Hyderabad. Directed by debutante Darshan, a special introductory video of Meenakshi was recently released.
