Born and raised in the city of Hyderabad, Sherlyn Chopra’s real name is Mona Chopra. After bagging the ‘Miss Andhra’ title in 1999, she ventured into modelling and created a storm by stealing the show at photo-shoots, ramp walks and brand endorsements. In 2002, the curvaceous figure made her silver screen debut in Telugu by playing the female lead in ‘Vendi Mabbulu’. The same year, Sherlyn featured in a Tamil movie titled ‘University’ and an English film titled ‘Beeper’.

After a 2-year break, Sherlyn made her return to Tollywood with Sekhar Suri’s ‘A Film by Aravind’ and essayed the role of Nirupama in the mystery-thriller. The same year, she made her Bollywood debut with the small-budget flick ‘Time Pass’ and went on to play a supporting role in Akshay Kumar & Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Dosti: Friends Forever.’ After ‘Dil Bole Hadippa!’ in 2009, Sherlyn was not seen in films for nearly five years.

In 2013, Sherlyn was roped in by Rupesh Paul to play the lead role of Kama Devi in the erotic-drama ‘Kamasutra 3D’. She also appeared in the trailer which got released at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in France. However, in August 2016, she told the media that she wasn't working on the project anymore. Responding to a report that she had undergone plastic surgery, the sexy starlet said “I wanted my followers to know how my journey started. Cosmetic surgery has the power to change lives. First, I opted for contact lenses. Then I got bored of being flat-chested, so, I got myself implants. One thing led to another and an incredible transformation happened! If a surgery can help one embrace one’s body and say, ‘I love you’, then it is worth it.”

In 2016, Sherlyn Chopra courted a big controversy by tweeting that she had slept with people for money. Elaborating on the statement, she stated “Everything was right on track until I bagged the title of Miss Andhra. Nineteen and absolutely mesmerised by the glamour of showbiz, it was at this crossroads that I chose to walk a different path. During my initial days of modelling, I started dating men much older than my age who would pamper me silly with expensive gifts. It took me a while to understand that my need-based relationships lacked genuine care, concern, respect and love. After, a great deal of introspection, I realised that just because a person desires me does not necessarily mean that he values me.”
