Telugu actor Satyadev is currently busy with the release of his upcoming film ‘Rao Bahadur’, directed by Venkatesh Maha. Recently the actor spoke about the challenges of being a public figure and why he believes actors need to be careful when expressing their political inclinations.
Why he chooses to stay neutral
In a conversation with Raw Talks with VK podcast, the ‘Kingdom’ actor believes that someone in the entertainment industry cannot give an honest opinion. Revealing his reason he mentioned how an artist would not want to lose any section of the audience.
“Because, at the end of the day, if you want an audience to watch your film, your political inclinations or something particular cannot be public,” he said.
According to him, his main responsibility is to make films and ensure that people come to watch them.
Satyadev added, “Because people from all walks of life watch films, what is my job? It is to make a film and to ensure people watch it that is my end goal. When I cater to 10 people, I want to be sure I don’t lose a single audience member. In such a case, I need to talk carefully.”
Satyadev calls it a business model
Talking further, he called it a business model that puts the audience first. He said, “That’s a business model; it’s inevitable. I can never be vocal about what I like and don’t like.”
The actor also shared that if someone wants to openly support a side, they need to be financially secure enough to handle any consequences that may follow. He admitted that he would never publicly reveal his real thoughts.
