Taking back control

The saree Samantha Ruth Prabhu wore to her engagement to Naga Chaitanya in 2017 was all people could talk about back then. Now, years later, Samantha chose the same designer – Kresha Bajaj – to make a powerful appearance at IFFI Goa in 2021 after announcing her split from Chaitanya. Take a look at how she has come full-circle in Kresha’s outfits.

Engagement

For her engagement to Chaitanya in 2017, Samantha opted for this gorgeous cream saree with embroidered zardosi in gold all along its edges. The saree had their love story embroidered on it – everything from when they first met on the sets of Ye Maaya Chesave to when he proposed to her by the beach on a vacation.

Photoshoot

Soon after their engagement, Samantha broke the internet when she did this photo-shoot for the same designer. Dressed in shades of pastel lehengas in various silhouettes, Samantha was a sight to see. Not to mention, her shoot made people curious to see what she would opt for her wedding that was to happen soon after the pictures went viral.

Wedding

For the pre-wedding festivities, Samantha opted for this blue and peach coloured pastel lehenga with intricate embroidery and a stunning bodice. She looked happy as she posed for clicks during the festivities with beau Chaitanya and father-in-law Nagarjuna. It was the perfect lehenga for the modern-day-princess she was.

Chay Tattoo

So it’s no wonder that when Samantha first decided to show off the ‘Chay’ tattoo on her ribcage, she opted for the same designer. Dressed in a powder pink saree with a matching blouse, Samantha looked drop dead gorgeous. The pictures broke the internet for all the right reasons and the saree itself looked stunning.

Slit Dress

And who can forget this black, sequinned dress she wore to an event? With slicked back hair, dewy makeup, nude lips, a statement ring and earrings, white nail polish and quirky heels, Samantha made heads turn. What was even better was that slit that showed off her toned legs and was completely on-trend.

IFFI Goa

And now, the actress came full circle when she opted to wear Kresha Bajaj again to IFFI Goa. She is one of the first South Indian actresses to have been invited to speak there, and turns out this is her maiden appearance there too. She made a powerful appearance in a sequinned red saree with a sheer inlay and a thigh-high slit, strappy sandals, hair that looked fiery. It almost seemed like the actress was taking back control and coming unto her own.
