There are huge expectations from 'RRR', and considering the hype around Jr NTR, Ram Charan starrer, it is expected to start with a bang at the box office

Jr NTR and Ram Charan’s period action-drama 'RRR' will release this Friday (March 25), and the film is going to be huge. The movie is made on a grand scale, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to create buzz around the film. And for obvious reasons, its box office performance will be compared with that of Prabhas starrer 'Baahubali.' The epic action-drama performed superbly and fetched good moolah for the makers of the film.

​Pre-release business

The film has fetched big money from the distributors. If reports are to be believed then, RRR has reportedly minted over Rs 570 crores in its theatrical business across the globe, while another Rs. 330 crore plus is expected to be realised from non-theatrical avenues. With RRR doing a massive business much before its worldwide release, fans of both actors have pinned high hopes on the upcoming project.

​First-day box office forecast – Telugu states

With the amount of pre-release hype and hysteria around SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR,' that it would take a huge opening day collection at the box office was a given. According to trade reports, the first-day box office forecast of 'RRR' will be Rs. 150-160 crore. The film is reportedly expected to take an opening of Rs 75 crore in the Telugu states. However, this has not been confirmed by official sources. Sources say the film is expected to have a record-breaking opening in the Southern states.

​First-day box office forecast – India & Overseas

It is reportedly expected to take an opening of Rs 50-60 crores in the north belt. The Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer is expected to cross Rs 25 crore at the box office on the first day in Nizam, according to industry reports. In Ceded, the movie is expected to be recorded a collection of Rs 15 crore on the first day. It will be collecting Rs 35 crore in Andhra Pradesh alone on the first day itself. The movie is likely to do well overseas as well and is expected to touch $8 million (Rs 60 crore). It will be garnering around Rs 20 crore in the rest of the states.

Nizam - Rs 25 crore

Cede - Rs 15 crore

Andhra Pradesh - Rs 35 crore

AP & Telangana - Rs 75 crore share

Karnataka - Rs 15 crore

Tamil Nadu - Rs 7 crore

Kerala - Rs 2.5 crore

Rest of the states - Rs 20 crore

Overseas - $ 8 million USD (Rs 60 crore)

​Will 'RRR' beat Radhe Shyam's first-day collection?

'Radhe Shyam' has become the highest opening day grosser post-pandemic, with a box office collection of Rs 79 crore at the worldwide box office. The period romantic entertainer performed superbly over the weekend and fetched good numbers at the box office. However, due to the negative response from critics and the audience, the Prabhas starrer failed to keep up the momentum and slowed down at the commercial circuits. Now, all eyes are on 'RRR,' which is another highly anticipated film of 2022.

​Will 'RRR' surpass the first-day box office record of 'Baahubali'?

'RRR' is not only expected to be managed to pull audience primarily due to Jr NTR and Ram Charan’s star power but also it is being believed to be blessed with good content, powerful performances and Rajamouli’s fabulous narration. Fans have already started a war on social media, arguing if 'RRR' will surpass the first-day box office record of Baahubali or not. Many trade analysts have also been suggesting that Jr NTR and Ram Charan will beat Prabhas at the box office this time.

​Biggest ever release

It's needless to say that the expectations from the film are sky-high, as Jr is collaborating with director Rajamouli after blockbusters like 'Simhadri' and 'Yamadonga,' and Ram Charan is teaming up with Jakkanna after industry hit like 'Magadheera.' Reportedly, the film has got 10,000 screens all across the world and will be released across 80 countries, thus making it the widest Telugu release ever. With this number of screens, we expect 'RRR' is to set new benchmarks at the ticket windows.

​Impressive star cast & crew

'RRR' is directed by SS Rajamouli and stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris in lead roles, while Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Spandan Chaturvedi, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson will be seen playing pivotal roles in the movie. The film trade analysts are expecting the film to set the screens on fire with their story. DVV Danayya is bankrolling the project under his banner DVV Entertainments. The technical crew comprises KK Senthil Kumar for camerawork and A Sreekar Prasad for editing. MM Keeravani has been roped in to compose the music for this flick.
