'Pushpa' producer dismisses rumours about Allu Arjun's involvement in choreographer Jani Master case: 'He has unnecessarily been dragged into it'
During a recent promotional event for 'Mathu Vadalara 2' in Hyderabad, 'Pushpa' producer Ravi Shankar found himself in a sticky situation. He was questioned about the involvement of director Sukumar. He was also probed about actor Allu Arjun's rumoured relation to the alleged assault case involving choreographer Jani Master.
Last week, while addressing the media on behalf of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Jhansi mentioned that a "big hero" had promised the victim professional support. While many speculated she was referring to Allu Arjun, Ravi clarified that this wasn’t the case.
When asked if Sukumar and Allu Arjun had offered 'professional support' to the alleged victim, Ravi responded that the issue between her and Jani Master was 'personal'. He clarified that the victim was hired as an additional choreographer for 'Pushpa: The Rule' and would remain involved throughout the project. He also mentioned that Jani was set to choreograph a special number for the film, but the incident occurred just two days before it was scheduled.
Ravi emphasized that Allu Arjun, given his stature, wouldn't get involved in personal matters or favouritism on set. He clarified that Arjun simply follows his work routine, greeting everyone and performing his role without influencing anyone's professional standing. Ravi added that Arjun "has unnecessarily been dragged into it. Given his stature, why would he stop someone from working or promote someone else? We are only professionally aligned with both of them."
Choreographer Jani Master was arrested in Goa last week for allegedly sexually assaulting a female colleague. Following the victim's FIR, he was taken into custody and presented in court. According to PTI, a Hyderabad city court has now placed him on a 14-day remand, and he is currently being held at Chanchalguda Central Prison. The Narsingi Police initially registered the case on September 15 under sections 376(2)(n), 506, and 323 of the IPC, along with a relevant section from the POCSO Act, 2012.
