Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Nandita began to work as a video jockey for a popular music channel. The romantic-drama opened to mixed reviews at the box-office, however, Swetha adopted the character name of Nandita as her on-screen moniker. After a decade-long journey in south cinema, she is returning to Sandalwood with ‘Rocking Star’ Yash’s film titled ‘My Name Is Kirataka’. Nandita Swetha became a household name in Tamil Nadu after playing a half-saree clad character in her debut Tamil film ‘AttaKatti’ (2012). Apart from performing in movies, I’ve learnt to communicate and deal with people. That has made me very stable now.”

Despite enjoying the status of a star heroine in Tamil, Nandita Swetha surprised everyone by signing Nikhil’s ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’ in 2016. She played the role of both the ghost and a one-sided lover with ease and managed to send shivers down the spine among the audience. Despite bagging the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actress, she took her time and returned to Tollywood in 2018 with three back-to-backs films namely ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’, ‘Bluff Master’ and ‘Prema Katha Chitram 2’. For the first time in her career, Nandita Swetha is playing the role of a tough cop in the upcoming Telugu-Tamil bilingual film ‘IPC 376’. She has performed some hardcore stunt sequences in the action-horror film without using a body double. The shooting has already been wrapped up and the release date will be announced soon.
