Naga Chaitanya calls 'Vrushakarma' ‘best film of my career’ at glimpse launch, heaps praise on director: ‘Karthik Dandu is a visionary’

Naga Chaitanya is gearing up for what he describes as the “the best film of my career." At the glimpse launch event in Hyderabad on March 6, 2026, the actor opened up about his upcoming mythological film, 'Vrushakarma', directed by the acclaimed Karthik Dandu.

During the event, Naga Chaitanya shared that the film is very special to him. He mentioned that he immediately liked the story when he first heard the script. “Vrushakarma is going to be the best film of my career. As an actor, I always wanted to do a larger-than-life film with spectacle, mythology, and multiple layers. My wish has come true with Vrushakarma,” he said.

How did Naga Chaitanya join 'Vrushakarma'?

The ‘Thandel’ star also shared the story behind how he became part of the film. When director Karthik Dandu was still working on the script, he heard the idea and was very interested. He then met the director and producers, hoping to join the film for a suitable role. Later, the team got back to him. “I requested them that if there was any opportunity for me in the project, I would love to be part of it. They said they would get back to me, and after some time they did. That’s how this project started,” he said.

Naga Chaitanya hails director Karthik Dandu

Praising the director, Naga Chaitanya talked about the demanding nature of the film, which Karthik Dandu executed thoroughly. “The script is mind-blowing. Since the film is larger than life and demands a lot, I initially wondered how Karthik would execute it. But the team answered all my questions during every schedule. They made the film without any compromises, and Karthik got everything he envisioned. I can confidently say he is one of the most thorough filmmakers,” he said. He also added that the last half hour of the film, the climax, will be a benchmark for the Indian cinema audience.
