Malavika Mohanan hits back at body double claims; shares BTS videos proving she did her own stunts in ‘The Raja Saab’

After a photo circulating online sparked claims that a body double performed her action scenes, Malavika Mohanan has set the record straight. The actress has now shared behind-the-scenes videos confirming that she performed her stunts herself in the Maruthi directorial ‘The Raja Saab’, starring Prabhas. She addressed the speculation in a long message.

Malavika Mohanan took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to share BTS videos. She wrote, "Been seeing a lot of tweets and articles about how I claimed to do my own stunts for ‘The Rajasaab’ but a body double did it as there’s a photo circulating online of a stunt artist who was my stunt double on the film."




In her post, she also added that she has always enjoyed doing action. She mentioned that since a young age she has enjoyed physically challenging her body and learning new things.

She further shared a filmmaking perspective on how stunts are being performed on a movie set. She wrote, “Secondly, there’s always a stunt double on sets even when the actors are doing their own stunts as the action director gets them to do the rehearsals of the shot as they’re the experts, before getting the actor to do a final shot. Or in the case of certain shots when they feel it’s too risky for the actor to do it- they feel it’s better for a professional to execute the shot so you’re not doing anything too risky without knowing how to do it correctly."

Later, she added that she also shared some BTS video and thanked the stunt team. "So here’s some bts of me doing some fun shots & a big hug to my stunt double who taught me how to execute them right :)," she wrote.

Malavika Mohanan, alongside Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar, played the female leads in ‘The Raja Saab’. The film was released on January 9 and is now available on OTT.
