'Major' movie review and box office collection LIVE updates: Adivi Sesh's 'Major' gets terrific response...!
Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar and Sobhita Dhulipala starrer ‘Major’ are finally out in cinemas today, June 3. The film, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka brings the actor-director duo for the second time after the 2018 hit film ‘Goodachari’ and the film will be competing with other big films like Lokesh Kanagaraj's & Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil's Tamil film ‘Vikram’ on one side, while Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar's Hindi film ‘Prithviraj’ on the other side at the Tollywood box-office this week. The ‘Major’ film traces the inspirational journey of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and his bravery and sacrifice in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The film produced by Mahesh Babu in association with Sony Pictures International Productions and A+S movies has already got the superhit talk with its full movie previews. To top it off, the film's trailer and songs have been receiving a positive response from the public talk so far. ‘Major’ also stars Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murali Sharma in the key roles. Adivi Sesh was last seen in the 2019 film ‘Evaru’ and had no releases till 2022. ‘Major’ was initially scheduled to release on February 11 this year but was postponed due to the third wave of the Covid Pandemic. Sashi Kiran Tikka’s Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar starrer Major, based on the life of 26/11 martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, hit the screens today. The filmmakers released the full video of the song Hrudayama which sees music by Sricharan Pakala, vocals by Sid Sriram and lyrics by VNV Ramesh Kumar. While the lyrical videos of the songs have already received good response, the full video shows off adorable chemistry between the lead pair.

"It's Sailesh Kolanu, who created 'Hit 1' in Hyderabad decided that he wanted to create the sort of hit cinematic universe, where you have the few cops in different cities, right, each dealing with cold cases. So, I am the cop in Visakhapatnam. Nani wanted to make it much bigger so we have made it on a larger scale than 'Hit 1'. I am also working on the remake of an Oscar winning movie that will be made in Telugu and Hindi."

Adivi Sesh on portraying a character like Major Sandeep
"The effort was to understand him rather than get into the role. Moreover the movie requires a lot of weight changes that our director decided to do. From 84 Kg to 81 Kg, 79 kg to 73 kg. Back to 81 kg and again back down to 76 kg. And also I have to act like a guy who is not filmy and do the action. Rather I have to actually move like a soldier and move smoothly. Or move like you've been training for 15 years. It's a very difficult process. Not to mention I'm left handed and somebody like me who is left handed had to do firing with the right hand as Major Sandeep used to do. It was not at all easy."
