Telugu director Teja, who has a reputation for launching fresh talent in Tollywood, is all set to introduce another newcomer to the silver screen. The recent reports suggest that the filmmaker is now bringing Mahesh Babu's niece, Bharati Ghattamaneni, into the industry.

Carrying the legacy forward

Bharati, the daughter of actor-producer Ramesh Babu, has reportedly completed her look tests and workshops for the role. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, she will be seen in a "well-etched lover-girl role" that has the blessings of both Mahesh Babu and Ramesh Babu’s families.

Viral moment turns into a breakthrough

It is revealed that Teja was keen on casting someone with "a traditional yet charming appeal," and Bharati seemed to fit the bill perfectly. Her graceful dance cover of her uncle Mahesh Babu's hit number 'Kurchi Madathapetti' from 'Guntur Kaaram' had gone viral on Instagram earlier this year, further making her screen presence and ultimately helping her bag the coveted role.

Interestingly, Bharati isn't the only Ghattamaneni gearing up for a big Tollywood debut. Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni, Mahesh Babu's nephew, is also preparing to enter the industry with a film directed by Ajay Bhupathi. The news of two siblings from the star family stepping into films around the same time has naturally generated excitement among fans.

"Mahesh has always been a pillar for his brother Ramesh Babu, even backing him as a producer with films like Arjun. Now, he is extending the same support and encouragement to the younger generation of the family", mentioned the source in the report.

Meanwhile, director Teja himself is juggling multiple projects. Along with Bharati's launchpad, he has also started work on a socio-fantasy thriller that will mark the acting debut of his son, Amitov. The shoot for this project commenced on August 8.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu is working with the ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli on the tentatively named 'SSMB29', which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
